Requirements include:
- Master's degree or in medical technology, biochemistry, physiology, chemistry, toxicology, clinical microbiology, parasitology, immunology, molecular biology, research psychology or a related field
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver)
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCAMLP)
- Permanent residency
