Be apart of one of the most state-of-the art research laboratories in the nation. Aerotek Scientific, on behalf of our client, is looking for Custom Breeding Managers who would be responsible for ensuring the welfare, care and handling of animals in custom breeding.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include all mouse production, staffing and employee relations. The incumbents are responsible for day-to-day facility operations, staffing and safety in the assigned areas and for the execution of colony management plans in accord with Standard Operating Procedures, IACUC and AAALAC criteria and specific demands for the proper care and management of each colony.
Job Qualification:
- Understanding of mouse biology and genetics, colony management and animal husbandry, colony planning, molecular and biochemical testing methods and the use of assisted reproductive technologies.
- BS Degree and 4 years experience in related animal care field
- Experience and understanding of federal and industry quality assurance systems/standards including, AAALAC, ISO, FDA, cGLP, the NIH Guide for Laboratory Animal Management, is essential.
- Excellent software skills in Excel, Word, Access, and ERP systems.
