Position Specifications Clinical Admissions Coordinator Nurse - Coordinated Care

This is a regular, hourly, 12 hour, Night shift position, 0.1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits. Responsibilities Responsible to triage patient admissions prior to placement in a bed. Responsible for accepting orders and initiating per MD order care pathways or standard protocol sets. Admission requests are reviewed for appropriateness of admission. Responsible for timely bed placement assuring the patient is receiving the right level of care. Routine negotiation with clinical care units, providers and physicians is required. Qualifications Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) required.

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington required.

Five years acute care experience required. Minimum of three years Charge Nurse or Administrative Supervisor experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Ability to perform assessments, apply standardized criteria sets to patient conditions. Ability to negotiate with doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers. Ability to educate physicians and/or office staff. Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development stage of the patient. Ability to use a computer for clinical data entry or retrieval. Demonstrated efficiency with a keyboard and mouse. Knowledgeable in the use of general office equipment (i.e. telephones, voice mail, fax machines and photo copiers). Excellent verbal communication skills in person and on the telephone. Ability to communicate effectively with staff of all job categories. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate clearly in English. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to act independently, utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills. Must be a mature individual capable of independent decision-making. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a complex healthcare setting. Demonstrated ability to partner with physicians. Maintains skills and competencies defined in the unit specific orientation competency skill list.
