Competencies:
Excellent knowledge in ophthalmology and extensive knowledge in epidemiology and public health aspects of health care in developing countries.

Qualifications:

Education:
Medical degree with specialization in ophthalmology and/or related fields. Post-graduate degree in epidemiology and/or public health or equivalent.

Experience:
At least 10 years' experience in leading prevention of blindness medical projects of which at least five years at the international level. Experience in Programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language. Any other UN language would be an advantage.
