Job Description:
KV Pharmaceutical seeks a Product Manager to support, plan, and gain approval for and implement marketing strategies and tactics which will contribute to Ther-Rx achieving or exceeding its annual sales objectives for the assigned products and/or product lines. The Product Manager will work with internal (Marketing Coordinator, PRB Review Team) and external (advertising and PR agencies, trade journals/ media, industry associations, pharmacy channel, etc.) parties to ensure maximum visibility of the assigned products and/or product lines with the target audience and the industry.

Planning Responsibilities will include support and development of the Annual Brand Plan, participation in the primary market research projects supporting the Plan development; propose tactical support elements of the Plan allocated for each scheduled POA meeting. Essential planning functions also include development/enhancement of product positioning, product messages, creative and graphical concepts and ensure that all promotional collaterals consistently project the positioning and messages.

The Product Manager will collaborate with appropriate Business Strategy and Market Research Analysts to develop and submit proposed annual revenue (dollars), TRx and units forecasts. Execution responsibilities will include, ensuring the timely approval and execution of all elements of the Annual Brand Plan, including Rep-driven and Non-Rep initiatives and packaging/labeling accuracy and supply, The Product Manager will be expected to oversee completion and implementation of each Trimester tactical plan for assigned products, ensure that each key functional area within the organization successfully performs the tasks needed to support Company’s products, and work to successfully overcome any challenges that arise. The Product Manager is needed to direct the development of all appropriate promotional/collateral materials from initial concept stage through production/distribution phase, and ensure the following key milestones are met such as; All tactical initiatives are reviewed and approved by Manager as well as outlines the objective and intended use of tactical initiatives, as well as the milestone execution dates (working backwards from required distribution date and allowing adequate time for print lead times, initial, subsequent and final PRB reviews and Marketing team review and discussion) and reviews with Manager prior to the commencement of the project. All appropriate creative and copy concepts have received initial KV Regulatory/Medical “concept” review and input prior to extensive work by the ad agency and establishes distribution quantities and time requirements for all collateral materials and communicates the requirements to the ad agency for the purpose of the agency providing print specifications and (2) independent print quotes. Additional (1-2) quotes may be secured by DPM based on the specifications provided by ad agency.

The Product Manager will meets/collaborate regularly with the following key functional areas to ensure appropriate product support and to recognize issues and opportunities:
- Materials Management (packaging)
- Regulatory Affairs (label updates)
- Medical Information (literature and FAQ updates)
- R&D/Discovery Research (formula updates and pipeline product development)
- Trade/National Accounts (distribution channel/stocking and issues and opportunities)

Reporting/Communication Responsibilities will include development of format and provide Manager with the following regular reports:
- Weekly (verbal) and monthly (written) promotional activity status updates
- Quarterly updates on key competitors’ products, pricing, promotion and strategy

The Product Manager must communicate to Manager any information that might affect the achievement of Company objectives, including, but not limited to, the Company’s products and promotional information as well as competitive information provided by the Field Sales Force.

The qualified candidate will be results-oriented and willing to take responsibility and initiative. Candidate must be well organized, attentive to details and have the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain timelines. The ability to work in a team environment as well as exemplify excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. The need to demonstrate the ability to think strategically and problem-solve on a tactical level is important. Knowledge of and experience with Regulatory approval process for promotional materials as well as superior oral/written communication skills is a must. The proper candidate must posses excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, effective interpersonal skills, and be honest in all relationships. The need to be skilled in creating advertising copy and promotional materials and directing ad agency in development of same and the ability to provide timely, accurate reports is required.

The Project Manager position requires a B.S. in Business Administration and/or related science degree
as well as 2 years or more of branded pharmaceutical product management experience and/or proven record of superior sales performance in the branded pharmaceutical industry, specifically in Women’s Healthcare products.
