Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides training related to the use of computer hardware, associated software applications, and new technologies introduced to BHC employees.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Technology Integration Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Planning
o Assist in the development of the Information Technology goal management process.
o Assist with the budgeting process.
2. Controlling
o Ensure the integrity of the information in the Learning Management System.
o Highly knowledgeable in commonly used workplace software.
o Able to adapt to changing priorities and a fast paced work environment.
o Works well in a team environment but is also self directed and motivated.
o Able to see through a problem to its resolution and to perform detailed research on issues that may be unfamiliar.
o Committed to follow through, tracking, and attention to detail.
o Looks for opportunities within Information Technology to integrate our technologies to applicable employees of BHC.
3. Producing
o Develops courses, from basic to advanced; courses developed for deployment on Black Hills Corporation's on-line Learning Management System, instructor led, or blended learning.
o Researches, develops documentation and provides employee training for new technologies at BHC.
o Provides training via web conferencing tools.
o Manages the Information Technology New Employee Orientation program and conducts New Employee Orientation.
o Develops course objectives and adapts course materials to meet identified needs.
o Performs needs assessments, determining skill levels necessary for employees.
o Provides training related to the use of computer hardware, associated software applications, and new technologies introduced to BHC employees.
o Maintains records of training activities, employee progress, and program effectiveness.
o Serves as program coordinator for both new and established training programs.
o Markets training through email, networking, and corporate Intranet.
o Surveys course/technology use and effectiveness.
o Creates course material and marketing pieces.
o Plays an active role in end-user software support by resolving standard application support issues.
o Acts as liaison between other IT functions and end users.
o Coordinate all aspects of training programs (e.g. registration, announcements, room set up, database upkeep etc).
o Assist with the development of presentations.
o Provide back up to the other Technology Integration Specialists.
o Assist with other duties and tasks as required.
4. Communication
o Provide a high level of professionalism to telephone callers (internal and external) by assisting them with information requested or directing them to the appropriate person.
o Liaison with Helpdesk and Technicians as needed.
o Exceptional verbal communication and classroom presentation skills.
o Excellent written communication skills for both narrative and technical writing.
o Outstanding public relations and customer service skills.
5. Supporting/Assisting
o Back up the other Technology Integration Specialists during absences and as requested.
o Assist employees with requests.
o Participate in corporate training programs as appropriate.
o Assist with special projects as requested.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
• Potentially all employees of BHC.
• Helpdesk and Technicians.
• Vendors.
Required Skills

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years experience in adult, technical education or training and curriculum development.
• Experience with eLearning course development desired, including graphic design.
• Experience with FrameMaker, InDesign, and Photoshop desired.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Education, or related field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel with minimum overnight stays.
